Carla

Hello, my name is Carla Douw, vocalist and frontlady of La-Ventura.
I started singing in a band when I was 21 years old. I participated in my husband's rockband "Red Alert" and recorded 2 demos. We did many shows in its 5 years of existence.
After the band broke up we started a symf poprock band in which I was not only vocalist but also played flute. A year later I entered a new local rockband "DV-us".
After the recordings of a demo-cd the band decided to split up. Meanwhile I was asked
to participate as a soloist in a side project. This project involved a big choir with full
orchestra and performed in some great theatres.
At that time I decided to take singing lessons as well to improve my skills.
What first started as a hobby now became a serious attempt to make my dream come true.

In 2004 I meet Marco and his bandmate .We went into the rehearsal room and recorded a few songs.
Unfortunately we never got on stage. Again I went on looking for a new band and I was more then happy to meet Erwin. Together we started the adventure of La-Ventura.

I like to listen to rock and metal orientated bands such as Katatonia, Lacuna Coil, A Perfect Circle, Evanescence and 30 sec to Mars.
My hopes and dreams for the future are: a successful release of our album, single and videoclip, finding a great label, more and bigger gigs, making progress, going on tour, creating more albums, becoming well known or famous and staying together as a band in good harmony...

Quote:
"My instrument is my voice. Nothing to pack up, no cords to wrap, or amps to store. It can get tired and sick and over worked. It is always with me and it is often the only thing people remember about me. It is what I give them to remember. I sing because I must. It is the one thing that resonates with my soul. I write songs because I can, because I should, because there is so much more than this. So much more than me. There is a bigger picture, and I want to be a part of it. The Painter is amazing. His work unmatched for excellence. So I will do my part, use what I have been given, always be grateful and enjoy it as much as I can."
